Versatile Macaroni Salad

I hated Tuna Mac Salad when I was growing up.
It was fishy and dry with little taste...sorry Mom,
but now I understand why she made it.
Its Fast, Easy and you can sneak veggies and a protein in.
Last week she me she was making it for company and I was like "Yucky, don't do that to them!"
Mom made it anyway and I tried it and was shocked.
I loved it! 16 years later, she has improved her technique!

There really is no recipe.
Pick out Pasta, cook and cool
Add Mayo, Miracle Whip, Sour Cream....one or all 3, if you'd like, I did.
Add Tuna (rinsed, this is key to non fishy taste or smell) or Chicken, maybe Salmon.
Add chopped Red Onion, green onion...we like onion
Add chopped celery, for crunch, you could add grapes, water chestnuts...anything really.
Lemon Pepper, salt and fresh pepper to taste.
Refrigerate, then add mayo again before serving.

Recently tested and approved by a 3, 9 and 11 year old.

Upcyled Garden Bench

I have this 70's style Buffet Table that I scavenged from a house my parents were cleaning out for a friend last year.
It's ugly, sad and I needed it out of my house.
I wanted to put it on the curb for Free,
But my mother wisely said " we can fix it up, you'll see." I only agreed because she said she would brave the July heat and help me.
I almost forgot to take a before picture!

4 cans of leftover spray paint later and voila... a funky garden/work bench for tools, seeds packets and shoes!

Upcylcled K Cup Holder

I simply refuse to pay 25 dollars for a fancy K-Cup holder!
I went on a hunt in my "project" room and found this file drawer I had picked up at a thrift store months ago for 3 bucks.
Of course, I forgot to take a before picture but it was ugly! But a little spray paint and I had a retro looking K- Cup holder that hides the clutter and fits the boxes perfectly. Yay.

Spring Chicken

This is my chicken area last year at this time:

This is now:
Hubby put up a fence, complete with a fancy gate so they can have more room to run and be free. A shade awning, even cute lights and a sign.

My new Spring babies:
3 are mine, which have been named Katniss, Prim and Rue...I was reading The Hunger Games Series when I got them. Mom named hers Matilda.

This is Ms. Attitude, Red. She likes to nip and is on the her last chance for 2 reasons. She nips and she hasn't laid an egg since November. But she sure is pretty!

These are my Easter Eggers: Dweedle Dee and Dum, which turned out to be the smartest! They hop the fence... eat some weeds and then hop back in. One often will come to the back door and call me when the girls are hungry for dinner.

Front Door Refresh

If you need to cheer up your house paint your Front Door, it is truly amazing what a little paint can do! I did this project one night while watching Larry Crowne...twice.

Before: (both evening pics, so not the greatest)
Old Strain, Cracked and BLAH....

Now:
Fresh, Clean, and Happy!!!
Behr, Sunbath
Trim, Espresso
