Bear Hunt

 We couldn't stay away and went back for round 2 in the mountains and it was glorious! 

 More thunderstorms, Smores, Apple Butter hoarding (more on that later), movies and great company. But my favorite memory was our Bear Hunt.

 Sunday was overcast with sprinkles but we all needed to exercise so we set off on a walk in the woods. Most of us just wanted to wander in the woods behind the cabin but Mom insisted we take the road due to a bad experience getting lost, so we took a dirt road that lead to a cattle watering ranch instead and I'm so glad we did. It was so much more interesting! 

Along the way Isabel started to correlate her surroundings to her latest book obsession "We're Going On a Bear Hunt"

She had a blast gathering little things like pretty rocks, flowers, sticks to kill the bear when she found it...yes my daughter likes to be scared, just a little bit.

Bear Hunts are tiring!

Magical Cabin

When you are at the cabin you feel like you are in another world,

A world that doesn't turn as fast,where TV isn't necessary, and internet does not exist

Where everyone is happy to be, neighbors, and even strangers, wave as they pass

You hear the wind in the trees before you feel it

Pine trees smell of chocolate, strawberry or vanilla

The creaking of footsteps on cabin floor in the morning is the first thing you hear and you suddenly remember where you are and the adventures that may lay ahead

Where summer storms are an event, and are watched from the porch 

Where you can see deer and other wonderful creatures

Stars shine brighter and the night is for roasting Smores and playing cards

 It's magical, relaxing, fun, memorable, inspiring place, it's part of my history and I was so happy to share it with my daughter before it's gone.

Hip Hip Huzzah!

My child makes friends wherever she goes. She picked up this buddy at the Birds of Prey show at the Renaissance Festival. So sweet.

 She rode the Giant Swan Swing with T Em and cousin Jada...

 Had a picnic lunch...

 While listening to this girl play...can't remember what the instrument is called but it was awesome.

Then she got an umbrella to stay cool...

Walked around the Midevil? petting zoo...all though, there was a huge shaggy cow with horns curved back into it's head!

 

 Watched Daddy play the Strong Man game...twice.

 Went exploring amongst the commoners ...

 Chit chatted and compared princess wands...

Overall, a fun filled day with some of her favorite people!
